And all that Jazz

Who would have thought that you could have fun on a Tuesday night?



Went to 70’s Bistro last Tuesday to catch Mishka Adams on the invitation of D. I had no idea who she was save for the fact that she was a jazz singer. Thankfully we had H, a classical guitarist who knew a lot about jazz.

We got there a little before 10 to a relatively full house. I loved 70’s since I was in college. To those who’ve never been, its not some fancy Café Havana like bar. But the moment you enter you know that you’re in the company of real musicians. The mood was just amazing that I had to bring out my camera and attempt to take some photos. This proved to be really difficult on the account that it was dimly lit and I had no idea what I was doing.

And there she was. Gorgeous. And despite H being a bit disappointed (she looked way more vavavoom on the album cover) her voice did have great character.

Two Coke lights later all of us were won over. H, on account of her amazing band and me by the fact that she was actually Filipina. Realization of the day -- one doesn't need to know much about music to appreciate it.

Maybe Wednesday won’t be so bad.
